UI/UX design
UI/UX design is the work of deciding how a product behaves and how it is presented: the flows a person moves through, the states an interface can be in, and the visual hierarchy that makes the next step obvious. Joltwise designs interfaces people can actually use, with clear hierarchy, honest states, and no decoration standing in for thinking.

When to call us
- People keep asking how to do something your product already does
- Every new screen looks slightly different from the last
- Your interface was designed for desktop and mobile was an afterthought
- You need an accessibility audit with specific, fixable findings
- Developers and designers are arguing because the handoff is ambiguous
What this involves
Design here is not a picture handed to a developer. It is the interaction model, the empty state, the error copy, the focus order, and what happens on a 360px screen at 200% zoom. Those are the parts of a product that decide whether it feels considered or improvised.
We design in the browser as often as in Figma, because that is where the truth is. A layout that works in a static frame can fall apart against real text lengths, real loading states and a real keyboard, and it is cheaper to find that out while it is still a design decision.
Where a product is going to grow, the output is a design system rather than a set of screens: named components, documented states, and tokens that keep a team consistent without a meeting about every button.
What ui/ux design covers
- Design systems & component libraries
- User flows & information architecture
- Accessibility audits
- Design-to-code handoff
- Product & interface design
- Prototyping
What you get
- Interface designs covering real states, not just the happy path
- A design system or component library where the product warrants one
- User flows and information architecture
- Prototypes for the interactions that need testing before they are built
- An accessibility audit with findings you can act on
What it costs
You set the budget.
Rates are flexible by design. Tell us what the work is worth to you, and we scope to fit it, not the other way round.
Questions
- What is the difference between UI and UX design?
- UX design decides how a product works: the flows, the structure, and what happens at each step. UI design decides how it looks and reads: layout, type, colour, spacing and the visual hierarchy that makes the next action obvious. They are separable as disciplines but not as work: a beautiful interface over a confusing flow still fails.
- Do I need a design system?
- Only if your product will keep growing or more than one person will build on it. A design system pays for itself when it prevents inconsistency across many screens and teams; for a single marketing site or a small fixed product it is usually overhead. We will say which case you are in rather than sell you the larger one.
- What is an accessibility audit?
- An accessibility audit is a review of a site or product against a standard, usually WCAG 2.2 AA, producing a list of specific, located, fixable findings. A useful audit names the element, the rule it fails, and what to change; a report that only says "improve contrast" is not actionable.
- Do you design in Figma or in code?
- Both, and the choice depends on what is uncertain. Figma is faster for exploring layout and hierarchy; the browser is the only honest test of responsive behaviour, real text, loading states and keyboard interaction. Work that will ship as a web interface generally moves into the browser earlier than people expect.
